I don’t want to get into this too deep, because there’s too many calories burned on her already and we’ve heard it all before (no talent, fame whore, blah blah blah..) — but I came across this picture on tumblr last night, and couldn’t get over the fact of despite the way the basic idea of this woman is bothersome to me, just how stunning this image is in a Page 6/Maxim magazine sort of way.
So here’s my question:
Seriously, look at this picture.
Think of some of Kim Kardashian’s other posed and planned photographs. Not papparazi pics of her walking around LA or publicity shoots — I’m talking about the ones where she knows there’s a camera on her. Say whatever else you want about her, how in the hell did she not just end up as a model?
Think about this for a second, how is it that we don’t already organically know Kim Kardashian as one of those girls doing that Victoria’s Secret TV gig, or hawking light beer and showing up in Adam Sandler movies like other models do?
And the only answer I can come up with is that girl must be insanely lazy. Smarts help as a model, but you don’t need them. There are plenty of dumbasses walking runway. But if you’re gonna make real money in that life, you’ve gotta put in the work (my ex-wife was in the industry, not even seriously big time — and there was a period where we drove all over for shoots).
Kim Kardashian never had to become a blight on our pop culture radar. She could have done this all day, hung out all day with Adriana Lima, Esther Baxter, and Brooklyn Decker and hawked L’Oreal products and show up in Sports Illustrated once a year wearing a swimsuit — and she could have still been rich, still been famous, still had the chance to bang athletes, and never had to deal with whatever else she (sarcastic voice on 10) “has to deal with.”
I don’t watch the show, so I don’t know any deeper context, and frankly I don’t care — but goddamn, look at that picture. 15 years ago this is a poster in my college apartment and I don’t effing care what basketball player she’s dating or how real their marriage was.
Girl is lazy.

i dont think there would be any advantage to being a model that she doesnt already have. very few models have their own tv shows or product lines in major retail stores. if she can do that AND not work as hard as "models" do, jsut living her life with people paying to follow her, sounds hella good to me!

I think it's because she's a shorty. Models are generally tall… and she ain't. I don't think she's lazy, because she works as hard as her mother makes her. She is just limited in marketable/competitive talent. And yes, she was prettier before she started to reshape her face. Face-front, she looks like a pretty version of the Joker in the Batman cartoons. That picture up top looks liker her older sister… who is foin with her multiple-baby having self.
She couldn't be a runway model being short. But commercial/print, she would be a shoe in. Urban modeling could have worked for her too.

Sandra BUllock is not physical beauty on the likes of stacey dash, but i've always seen her as girl next door pretty and… dorky awesome. She seems like a very good person balance wise.

Kim K does NOT have a mainstream America body, and though she has sadly been trying to mainstream her facial features for greater acceptance, the bottom line is that the mainstream male in 2011 is ridiculous. They want extremely thin women with large tits, no hips, and a longback (no azz).

Kim would only be good for the Source, XXL and other urban magazines because they don't care about how tall you are. They care about the size of your boobs and waist-to-butt ratio. Mainstream runway modeling requires you to be at least 5'8 barefoot) and she's got too much thighs and butt for runway/mainstream catalog work.

She's too short and she's too fat (according to the fashion world). Most designers want women who look like they haven't eaten this century. The best she'd get offered would be plus-sized modeling gigs–which is f*cking laughable at best because she and those "plus sized models" are anything but f*cking plus-sized–but she's way too insecure about her looks to want to be labeled a plus-sized anything, so she'd pass on that opportunity if it presented itself.
She's a very beautiful woman (even after screwing with her face) and her shape is awesome (seriously, I'm not even into girls, but that picture up there is the business). After that, she plans to retire and live the good life (as she stated in Marie Claire).
