Beyonce
I am Sasha Fierce

Ugh!

I wonder why I torture my delicate ears sometimes.

I really didn’t want to review this CD cause I just don’t care for the girl sorry…I mean some of her songs are OK and I did think her first solo CD was pretty decent. But she can work a nerve often!

So this is a double CD supposedly showing the 2 sides of Mrs. Carter….

Whatever…

The Beyonce CD sounds more pop/rockish to me….quite a few songs reminded me of Rihanna and that is not a good thing. Not impressed at all.

So onto the Sasha CD….

I can’t even finish the CD yuck!

NEXT!

Slim
Love’s Crazy

So I was never a big fan of 112. Just wasn’t my kind of music. I think my niece sums up my taste quite nicely I’m not a fan of your average run of the mill R&B. And this CD reminds of such.

It doesn’t help much that I am not that big of fan of his voice. I can only take so much of it.

It’s a tolerable CD. Meaning if you hear the songs on the radio you won’t change stations but I don’t know if you would want to run out and buy it. I think if I could tolerate his voice more and he didn’t have the rappers on it…I’d probably like this CD a little more. It does have some decent songs on here but his voice ugh….

Standout tracks….they standout more musically than vocally his voice really irritates me…it’s almost babyish sounding…

Good Lovin
So Fly – ft. Yung Joc
So Gone – ft Faith Evans
Sweet Baby
Bedtime Stories

Happy Listening Peeps!

Next week it’s all on B…he’ll be reviewing Luda and Kanye. I finally get a break lol

What’s funny is that, as fine as that woman (Beyonce) is, I already felt that she was overexposed. Now I find out she has a new CD. Channel surfing is going to be a dicey proposition.

  2. tweet says:

hey bef…since your not a fan of the run of the mill type of r&b, check out eric roberson. this brotha is just smooth…

  3. nonotthejacket says:

I will not be buying Sasha Fierce. My library/blank CD connection will suffice for any tracks I like. She has run her mouth just a little too much lately.

Volunteering for the inaguration? She wants to play Wonder Woman? She better get back to that full-time camel rodeo she calls her marriage and saddown.

  4. Bef says:

    Hey Tweet

    I have all of Eric’s CDs….talented brotha…

  5. nonotthejacket says:

Oh, and Bef I completely agree with you about Slim’s voice. I can’t listen to him for more than 30 seconds and stations get switched post haste.

  6. Slausnificent says:

OK I almosty bought Sasha FIerce this morning right, and my Other woman ( my iphone) would not let me buy it.

    I was like.. yes.. purchase.

    Iphone: No. can not purchase.

    Me: Purchase!!

Iphone: .. I know whats best for you. don’t do it.

  7. QQ says:

Your Iphone IS wiser than you Obvs!

Pretty girl but she is the reason I try to read books and not listen to the radio in one fell swoop

    vacuous as hell

  8. TinaBaby says:

Will someone please put one of those electric dog collars on B-NO-SAY and everytime she says “Sasha”, “Fierce” or “Ssss” shock her till she’s twitchin on the floor? Thanks.

  9. Jada Mwah! says:

While I LOVED Dangerously In Love…B Day and this album needs to go back to the fiery hell it emerged from. BeYAWNce is too damn old to be singing this fluff stuff. Her audience grew the hell up…WHY DIDN’T SHE? This woman is grown and married still shouting bout single ladies. Can you please sing something with some depth?
    Ugghhhh!

As far as Slim…not my favorite vocalist. I like So Fly, but I was never a huge fan of his whiny voice.

  10. ugh. i preordered it on itunes before i heard “single ladies” and now im upset, cause her last album was decent. all her songs sound like she’s tryna get @ rihanna and im jus sick of the whole thing. let some other baby whore run around in a leotard. come on bey.

  11. Vanz says:

    :(

You guys are making me second guess buying it…. I still want it though… heffa gets on my nerves but I love her voice

  12. Can't Take It says:

    Not buying either CD.

BeNonsense is getting old. She needs to switch up her game or she’s going to be on the sidelines with the quickness. Well…on mine, anyway. As for Slim…I’d like So Fly better if he had better rappers on it, but he doesn’t. Plus dude ISN’T fly, so the song doesn’t work for me. So no go on the CD!

Vanz, if you’re not sure about buying it check out your public library…most have current music. I’ll buy something if I really want it, but other than that I get them from the library and burn them.

  13. TinaBaby says:

I think my problem is I don’t like most new music. There are a few songs here & there I’ll like but for the most part. Meh

Right now I’m listening to “Dial My Heart” by The Boys & am in Heaven.

  14. Wilfredo says:

Vanz: No! Don’t put on that sad face! Reserve it for something really meaningful. She still has a great face, and she’s beautiful, but she’s annoying as hell.
    You can try this:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHsSIoBcTt8

    or this:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g92N0CdCzJo

They’re both safe. There’s no risk of overexposure, see?

  15. Jada Mwah! says:

@ Tina…Dial My Heart was that joint. You gonna make me go into the archives!

I agree with you on that…. she’s doin’ too much but I’ll be damned if I dont like her music… smh… sometimes I embarrass myself

  17. Wilfredo says:

    Vanz: ::Looks around kinda red-faced::
I sometimes listen to some Neil Diamond songs…
-er- and I even sing it out loud.

  18. Vanz says:

That’s ok Wil… I was singin’ my tail off to Benny & the Jets this morning

  19. Slausimus Prime says:

@ Tina Baby :: squeezing into an old sweater and high top fade ::

I call my baby on the phone!
Got to get her a message to let her know!
That if she ever feels alone,
    to Diiiiial mmyyy heaaaart!

  20. Can't Take It says:

Wil, we are some ecletic music fans up in here, no worries. One of my favorite singers is Rosemary Clooney.

  21. Wilfredo says:

    Vanz: Just this morning -
    Play Me - Neil Diamond
    Still - Lionel Richie
It’s Not Easy Being Green - Kermit The Frog.
I really could go on, but you get the point.

  22. Wilfredo says:

Can’t: Come On A My House is a sexy song. I’d go.

  23. Vanz says:

Kermit? Really? Gosh. I haven’t heard that song since I was a kid.

  24. Wilfredo says:

That’s why I got it. I’ve had good taste since I was a kid.

  25. Wilfredo says:

I also have the Ray Charles version.

  26. Can't Take It says:

Every day? - Linus and Lucy

The Rainbow Connection is my shyt.

  27. Vanz says:

You just showin’ out now. :)

  28. KIKI says:

LMAO@ya’ll talkin about Bey too old to be sangin ’bout Single Ladies. Ya’ll do know the music to that song & the video were inspired by Gwen Verdon & her Posse, right?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcNGi3c0MdA

  29. Slausimus Prime says:

LOl at people emailing me that: “I thought Bef was just hating, but she is so right on that beyonce garbage.”

dont get it twisted… bef is a notorious hater

  30. truth hurts says:

All you guys are supreme haters! Beyonce rocks! :). I loved The Boys! I remember these young cats performed dial my heart in elementry. I was sitting in the front row and one of them have me a heart cut out in red poster board. Talk about feeling all special and tingly!

  31. Wilfredo says:

    Kiki, that was awesome!

  32. Wilfredo says:

My absolute favorite Sesame Street song:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9fwjox49Wk
Huh. Weird. It didn’t stand up to the test of time. But look how young Oscar the Grouch was!

  33. truth hurts says:

Do you guys have any information on when Keisha cole will be dropping her new album?

  34. KIKI says:

Those old ass women were actually the inspiration to
Single Ladies. The original Gwen Verdon Fosse performance was off to the right. If you watch it the music is very similar. All Bey did was change it up a lil & add some words. That’s why it was so funny to me everybody talkin bout Bey too old. So I guess Gwen & her crew need to just climb up in dey coffins then. LMAO

    And yeah…I knew Bef wasn’t hatin…the cd is pure-dee-garbage!

Wil…I’m amused…yet concerned (and confused) about the Sesame Street flashback. lol

  35. Wilfredo says:

    truth: December 16th.

  36. Wilfredo says:

Me too, Kiki. I’ve been flashing (not in the menopause or the raincoat way) like crazy. All of a sudden it’s like Quantum Leap for me. Heh-heh

  37. Bef says:

Why I got to be a notorious hater though–you ain’t shit Slaus

I think this is the most action any of my reviews have ever seen lol

who the hell is listening to Kermit up in here lmao

and yea that Gwen Verdon Fosse video has had several “remixes”

I personally like the walk it out remix lol

but from my understanding Gwen is just a dancer…not the originator of the music…or the choreography…her husband did that…the late great Bob Fosse…I think…don’t quote me…

  38. Vanz says:

Well it’s settled… I’ll burn the damn cd… see… this is why I don’t listen to urban music anymore. smh

  39. Slausimus Prime says:

cuz u a hating ass hater. love you tho! witcha hating ass midget ass always cussing me ass, lil ass

  40. Can't Take It says:

Kiki, I didn’t mean old as in too old to be singing about that stuff. I mean as in her style is getting old. She needs to switch it up like Seal has(gatDAMN i need that album).

Then again, comparing Bey to Seal is like comparing Rihanna to Aretha. Talent AND weight-wise.

  41. Wilfredo says:

Bef, you’re right about Gwen Verdon. She was married to Bob Fosse. He also choreographed her in Damn Yankees.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTq8kVX0m5o
The payoff is at the 3:50 mark.
There was a film somewhat based on Fosse’s life, directed by the man himself, All That Jazz.

  42. Wilfredo says:

    P.S. Lola coulda had me.

  43. truth hurts says:

    Thanks wil

  44. Jada says:

Bey is too old to still be singing bout the same damn shit she was singing bout since she was 15. She need to grow the hell up already. She has lost me ever since that bday mess she put out. i am sounds like it picks up right where that bullshit left off….WHY!

she wants to be icon status…it’s time for her to start living up to her own expectations. single ladies is garbage as is the rest of the album.

  45. Sammyslaus says:

*taps foot* *looks in inbox* ahemmm Beffa! You know what tew dew!

  46. Wanna says:

I just finished listening to … at least attempting to listen to … Sasha Fierce. And I am offended that people are comparing it to B’Day. I’m sorry, but B’Day was on jam! Irreplaceable, Green Light, Kitty Kat, Upgrade You, Deja Vu and Resentment were great songs!

But that Sasha Fierce stuff? Ugh! I tried twice to listen to that album, and there were only 1.5 tracks that didn’t put me to sleep. You guys really aren’t just hating on Beyonce with this one - this CD really is crap.

  47. truth hurts says:

Dang that sucks!Maybe she needs to go back to being beyonce and not sasha fierce.and I agree with you wanna bday was knocking! I loved dangerously in love too. Speechless was my shit during date nights.

  48. KIKI says:

Oh…I know Can’t. It’s just that ever since I’ve seen it, I associate that vid with Single Ladies now instead of the actual one.

So I was just tickled by ya’ll sayin she too old but kept picturing Gwen & her girls wit dey old asses workin it out.

Iont even know if any of that just made a bit of sense. But I’m still celebratin and after a few of the Goose, forming complete thoughts dont come as easy as it usually does

  49. truth hurts says:

    Goose on a Tuesday? Fierce!

  50. Slausimus Prime says:

I listened to this Cd last night on Rhapsody.

    FAIL!!

    iT WAS HORRRIBLE!!
