Racial Insensitivity or The NAACP being whiny?

in Just Ignant

?

Ok is it just me, or is there always something ignant to report about Florida these days. Yes I know I have the reputation of reveling in the act of reporting bad enws about the south, or making fun of life below the Mason Dixon line, but… :shrugs: ok, so I do. I’m an arrogant yankee. But this is a matter of me enjoying poking fun of the NAACP AND Florida. Two for one, bytches.

Anyway, there was a big push to capture some big time felons down in a ?FLorida, which was positioned as an opportunity to cathc the worst of the worst fugitives. ?They called it Operation Orange Crush, and they made posters from some of the arrests that were made because of this big push. Nearly 2500 to be exact.

But peep this:

One large poster on display included a picture showing a smiling, handcuffed black man standing next to five armed white officers wearing body armor, who also appeared cheerful. Alvin Anderson, 21, coincidentally was wearing a T-shirt with the logo for Orange Crush soda when he was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault in Pensacola, said Frank Chiumento, commander of the Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force in North Florida.

The fact that the picture was chosen for display, Evans said, shows a lack of racial sensitivity.

?

“The implication is that a lot of white officers arrest black men,” said Charles Evans, president of the Tallahassee branch of the NAACP. “You can read a lot into this picture.” [source]

Uhm… a lot fo white officers DO arrest a lot of Black men as well as latino and white men as well!! Come on, NAACP. The most ridiculous part is they are complaining about this poster when in fact other posters from the operation featured plenty of Whites being arrested as well.?I’m finding some real issues with finding merit in your argument. How about the fact that this “brotha” was a fugitive who was on the run and hiding??

I’ve said it many times before, and ill say it again… Ish like this is why no one gives a damn when we pull the race card.?

Well before i end up being labeled a typical Black Conservative, i’ll let you all discuss.

Is this racial insensitivity? Or racist.

Tell a friend, tell ya momma, tell that one heffa you hate!

Let me Just stay calm and copy and paste my reply to ya’ll last week on this little matter:

” “The implication is that a lot of white officers arrest black men,” said Charles Evans, president of the Tallahassee branch of the NAACP. “You can read a lot into this picture.”

Is this racial insensitivity? Or racist?

Neither.
It is one of many pictures of the police (who just happen to have more whites than any other race) standing around a guy in a orange crush tee shirt (who just happens to be black). I am fairly certain the same picture would have been taken if it was a white guy in the orange crush tee – the irony is the tee-shirt and the name of the operation.

About 10 yrs ago in Baltimore there was an uproar because the newspaper posted a picture of a white cop pointing to a dead drug dealer who died in a shootout.(just so happens the dead drug dealer was wearing a JUST SAY NO! t-shirt) People immediately screamed racism.. and i’m like “Bitches..u don’t see the obvious irony?”

7 Jaila September 22, 2008 at 8:59 am

Bottom line in all of this is that MF was CAUGHT doin something he had no business doing. Its not cause he’s black its cause the MF is criminal.

8 Saitek September 22, 2008 at 9:11 am

y does the NAACP insist on making issues of non-issues??

im sure there is some real race issue going on somewhere but this clearly isnt one of them

9 Ambboogie September 22, 2008 at 9:32 am

Poor Taste = Yes
Racial Insensitivity = Possibly
Are there bigger fish to fry = Yes

Can we put the NAACP to rest cuz er’time they open they mouth it put us back a few years. Don’t get me wrong we sure did need them back in the day, but now, the old guard is just keepin us in the victim position.

If’n the n---a Association for the Assholed-ness of Coony Porchmonkeys really cared, they’d begin to do something for our communities in a big way instead of always holding galas and events to pat each other on the back for doin absolutely nothing anymore!

11 I Am Chocl8t...and you are? September 22, 2008 at 10:08 am

It’s neither!! If that coon ass SommaBitch had his shit together AND NOT participating in ILLEGAL activities he would not have had his picture taken. This is what pisses me about the NAACP, Al Sharpton, Jesse JackASSon, et al., lending their names to some STUPID BULLSHIT and losing all credibility in the process.

Um…

The NAACP gets a “Y’all Don’t Get It FAIL” for this one.

This Negro is cheesing in a pic with cops who arrested him (so he was engaged in some illegal shit), which as far as I’m concerned is him giving permission to be pimped out by the Police Dept. for being straight cooney (where did he think the pic was going to be in – Don Diva Magazine).

From the burial of the “N” word (and not the behavior which makes the word go round) to pretty much being quiet as hell during this entire U.S. Presidential Election in regards to race and class issues, the NAACP is now sadly simply an outdated relic of the past until some fresh leadership comes into play.

13 Can't Take It September 22, 2008 at 11:12 am

Dude is smiling right along with them, how the fugg NAACP gon get mad?

Stupid picture of a dude(who happens to be black) that got what was coming to him. That is all.

14 babyfacedassassin September 22, 2008 at 11:33 am

I agree with Ambz

15 Wanna September 22, 2008 at 11:49 am

I vote whiny.

Some jerk posted a blog comment somewhere recently that said “apparently black skin is thin skin”. The irony is that I did not laugh and realize how true that statement is until after I was done being offended by it.

16 Niki September 22, 2008 at 2:20 pm

I’m thinking the same thing: White officers DO arrest a lot of black men. And I’m sure black officers arrest black men. And have you seen the Faces of Meth posters? They’re all white people’s mug shots, probably arrested by white AND black officers, but I’m not complaining.

You can’t just pretend black people don’t commit crimes too, just because the NAACP might get touchy about it. Yes, it’s whiny and annoying as hell. (Save the race card for Sandals resorts, if you ask me, cause that’s my current hot button!)

Besides, why the hell is that dude smiling any damn way? The cops, yes, but the criminal?? Wipe that smirk off your face, you’re making nobody proud. Hmph.

17 Jaila September 22, 2008 at 3:40 pm

niki – cause coony ass coons think that shyt is funny. Thats just how ignorant they are.

oh yeah and btw yall.

u aint neva seent a magenta mf gettin arrested have ya? LOL

18 Maglet September 22, 2008 at 3:46 pm

Um. Clearly, they have nothing to do with their time. Oh wait… yes they do. There are real issues out there that need fighting for.

Not this kneegrow with handcuffs cheesing ‘cuz he’s a felon. Move on to something real, NAACP.

They pluck my nerves! Instead of being relevant, they’re a joke (in my opinion).

19 Illbedamn aka Slaus September 22, 2008 at 3:52 pm

@ Niki – and do NOT walk around saying: cops are always arresting Coony ass coons…

it wouldnt be the first time a white person got murdered for repeating ish they heard black friends say.

shyt, sometimes I say stuff to my white friends, just to see if they are dumb enough to repeat it later.

20 Bef September 22, 2008 at 4:23 pm

So the N A A C P not the N double A CP *rolls eyes*…has nothing else better to do….um I thought we had a black man running for president yes?……….

Ok so seriously this program has other posters with white criminals?

Umm that’s not racist it’s racial equality…they show white folks doing something (illegal or not) and they show black folks doing the same thing…sounds like racial equality to me…

21 Illbedamn aka Slaus September 22, 2008 at 4:27 pm

@ bef- you know racial eqaulity means one side benefits more than the other. just depends which side you’re on.

22 Truth Hurts September 22, 2008 at 5:16 pm

Get in an uproar about racial profiling, police brutality against blacks, black people who sprinkle crack on their friends when they make a valid point. But DO NOT kick up dust regarding stupid ass n---as who commit crimes and then grin when they are arrested for it. Stop drawing attention to coonery for crying out loud.

23 Bef September 22, 2008 at 6:07 pm

@ Truth….ummm that’s too much like right….

24 Ohio girl September 22, 2008 at 6:43 pm

Okay, I’m LMAO at: n---a Association for the Assholed-ness of Coony Porchmonkeys.

Anyway, I agree that the NAACP is once again being too deep for their own good. The darkie is a clown for smiling like it’s picture day, but I don’t find it racist.

Peace…I’m back to lurkin

25 Truth Hurts September 22, 2008 at 6:59 pm

Bef, ya think?

26 Clnmike September 22, 2008 at 8:14 pm

f--k that.

This shit is racist as f--k.

Ii doesnt matter if the dude in the pic is a crook, the message sent by pic is the problem.

A bunch of white cops surrounding a black dude in the age of racial profiling, police brutality, and unfair sentencing.

What this says to WHITE people is that well if the nagga gets shot 41 times for reaching for his wallet he probably did something wrong, it says if a black dude gets shot 50 times some cops are going to walk because some one on that jury see this poster gets the idea that they were just doing there job.

It also breeds mistrust of young blacks against white police.

You telling me they could come up with a better pic than this Willie Horton shit?

Better yet there is not opne black cop in Florida to off set this?

27 sammydeen September 22, 2008 at 8:50 pm

*le sigh*

28 Niki September 23, 2008 at 2:24 pm

I’m glad to see a differing opinion, even though I completely totally disagree.

I have a feeling if they subbed a white actor in the pic, the NAACP might pull the race card again.

(Ya know, I knew the n-word, but all these other ones are new to me. Don’t worry, I won’t repeat anything I learn on here! I’m IGNORANT, not stupid!! LOL)
